Jan 23: How to Submit Magazine Articles in the 21st Century, Port Moody Public Library, 9:30am to 12:30pm. Free, but is now FULL.  You must register for the wait list at 604-469-4577 or attend the session on Feb 6 in Surrey.

Feb 6: Pitching in a Cold Climate for the Surrey Writers’ School, 10:15am to 1:15pm. Freelancers today must offer magazines more than just an article…. Newton Library, 13795 - 70th Ave, $45.00. Details of workshop at www.beaconlit.com/PitchingCold.htm. Register at www.surreywritersschool.com/

Feb 12: Bright...but Reluctant Writers for the Coquitlam Teachers' Association's conference, Making Creative Connections. Riverside Secondary School, Port Coquitlam, 10:00am to 1:30pm.

Mar 20: Book Magic: Turning Writers into Published Authors (9am-noon) and Crafting Irresistible Query Letters (1-4pm) for all fiction and non-fiction writers  who want to learn more about getting their books published (unsuitable for poets and screenwriters). Vancouver Community College (downtown). Register after New Year here.

Mar 22nd: Pitching Magazine Articles for  first-year students in the Public Relations Diploma program, Kwantlen College, Richmond campus. 3:00-5.00pm

Jul 2-4:  Book Magic: Turning Writers into Published Authors, a panel, and Blue Pencil Cafe for the Write on Bowen Festival for Writers and Readers. Click here for details about registration, accommodation, etc.

Oct 17: An afternoon for writers at Renaissance Books in New Westminster with Debra Purdy Kong focused on getting commercially or self-published. Details TBA.
