THE BEACON

Your guiding light for writing and publishing

The Beacon newsletter is published quarterly and is distributed electronically free of charge to all interested writers and aspiring authors who subscribe. It has a Canadian flavour and focuses on the writing life, how to get published, and includes professional editor, Joyce Gram's column.

You may view and download the current edition (Winter 2011-12) here. Issues from the last twelve years are archived below for you to browse.

Also enjoy The Beacon Blog and "Like" the BLS Facebook page, which provide many timely posts and discussions .

If you wish to receive
The Beacon -- subscribe here (www.jotform.com):
PLEASE NOTE:
It's a good idea to enter "*@beaconlit.com" into your email program's "Friends" list or you may not receive the newsletter

Writers react to The Beacon:

Thanks for issues of The Beacon. They never fail to add to my constant learning, learning, learning.
Tom Masters, editor, True Blue Spirit magazine at http://truebluespirit.ca/

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for continuing to email me The Beacon. As an emerging writer, I learn a lot from it and I appreciate getting a Canadian perspective. Please keep up the great work!
Silk Questo, February 2009

I spent the better part of the morning reading your blog, your free articles, and many back issues of [Beacon] Flashes. Thank you for what you do.  AND I live for [The Beacon and Flashes] to arrive in my e-mail. You continue to be an inspiration.
George Lamont, November 2007

You have keen insight in addressing stimulating and important subjects conducive to a successful writing career.

Irene Butler, BCATW, March 2007

Your newsletters just keep getting better.
Joyce Gram, editor, http://www.gramediting.com, September 2006

The info you send is always so ‘hot-off-the-press’ and highly practical.
Irene Butler, June 2006

I've taken a few of your workshops, one through the SiWC, and have benefited. I am writing now to express my appreciation of your newsletter.
Jan Murphy, April 2006

Just to let you know how much I appreciate your newsletter - short, informative and to the point.
V. Berger, January 2006
