"GOOD EVENING,
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!"

N
ot only is Julie Ferguson a successful author of three non-fiction books on Canadian history and seven books for writers and teachers, she is also an accomplished professional speaker and trainer.  Since Dundurn Press published her first book in 1995, she has been much in demand. Julie's practical presentations on creative writing and publishing have earned glowing praise from participants and clients alike, both of whom say that she is a dynamic speaker at their conferences and in-house workshops. Clients include the Surrey International Writers' Conference, many school districts in western Canada, and a community college.
Organizations such as the National Press Club in Ottawa and the World Ship Society have also enjoyed Julie's lively, well-illustrated presentations on naval history. She has appeared on TV and local and national radio talking about  Canadian submarines, and her latest book, Sing a New Song: Portraits of Canada's Crusading Bishops. Vicki Gabereau's CBC Radio listeners voted Julie one of the five "Guests of the Year" in 1996. She is also a former member of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers.
